(In Development)
Called upon to surrender sovereignty and enter into a loveless match, Hippolyta enlists the reluctant aid of her handmaiden, Emilia, to end her life. They depart for the forest to accomplish the dark deed, but by chance Hippolyta meets her former lover, Oberon, and Emilia’s path crosses with that of Puck.
The handmaiden pledges to use the magic purple flower, supplied by the faerie king, to create a happy outcome for her mistress – but she inadvertently unleashes a series of mishaps.
Hippolyta’s Handmaiden tells the behind-the-scenes story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It’s about duty and sacrifice, nobility and power, and love and desire – and how you can always control the first two, sometimes control the middle two, but never control the last two.
